Description
The Johnson Controls DPT2640-2R5B is a differential pressure transducer that is used in HVAC systems. It quantifies the variation of pressure at two points in a duct or air handler. This measurement is essentialin the regulation of airflow in VAV systems, which vary airflow depending on the need. The transducer operates in a manner that translates the pressure difference into a voltage signal of 0-5 VDC. This signal is then relayed to a building automation system to evaluate it and in response manipulate dampers, fans, or other equipment to ensure the set rate of airflow in the building is achieved. VAV systems regulate air flow rates to an extremely accurate level and the ability to do this greatly enhances energy efficiency and satisfaction among building occupants. This is a general-purpose transducer with a pressure range of -2.5 to 2.5 inches of (Wc) for most VAV applications.
