Description
The Trane RLY1873 is Trane Double Pole, Double Throw interlock relay which is 24V in Trane HVAC equipment. The device is roughly 3.5″ long, small thing. It is an on-off switch operated by a pulse of electricity. Really it’s just a relay allowing electricity to pass between two separate circuits via its own contacts switching across a 24 V signal. The capacity of switching allows it to be used in many HVAC system applications. For example, to control the order of the heating and cooling phases of the system, or to trigger the safety measures (such as system overheated shutdown).
