The Johnson Controls VFD68CFF-2 is a variable frequency drive with more capability control of AC motors usually installed in HVAC equipment. It is possible to consider it as a bridge between the fixed electrical source and the motor. The fact that motor speed can be altered is of significant advantage in HVAC systems. For instance, variable speed control of fans and pumps in air handlers, chillers and cooling towers is made possible. At lower cooling loads, the VFD can decrease the speed of the motor and therefore decrease energy usage and noise level.
