The Honeywell Analytics 129570-L3 Xprfmethane sensor (S301D2Comb) is a combustible gas explosion-proof catalytic bead sensor that continually detects the presence of methane gas in a variety of HVAC equipment, including natural gas boilers, furnaces, and leak detection systems. Methane is converted into carbon dioxide using a heated catalyst bead, and the electrical signal that is produced is proportional to the methane concentration. This makes it possible to identify methane leaks early on, which can enhance safety and ensure that environmental laws are followed.
