The Caleffi 523177A is a high-flow, thermostatic mixing valve used to control water temperature in hydronic heating systems. With the help of an integrated cartridge and temperature sensor, this 1 1/4-inch sweat connection valve automatically mixes hot and cold water to provide a constant and secure outlet temperature. The way it operates is by comparing the temperature of the blended water to a user-adjustable setpoint. The valve opens the hot water port and vice versa if the combined water is too cold.
