Description
The Carrier 48DJ660011 is a heat exchanger with gaskets and baffles, is an essentialcomponent of the gas furnaces. Its principal role is to act as a high heat transfer zone for transferring heat from the combustion chamber to the air stream. After combustion the hot gaseous products of fuel exit through tubes within the heat exchanger and transfer heat to the adjacent metallic walls. This warmed air from the blower fan then passes across these heated walls and then it is distributed throughout the building. The gaskets are pre-installed to guarantee that there is no exchange of gases between the heat exchanger and other parts of the furnace with the conditioned air. Included also are baffles that assist in the direction of airflow for enhanced heat exchange.
