Description
The Lennox 11W51 Limit Switch is a safety control device used in HVAC products such as furnaces and air handlers. This switch is incorporated into the unit to measure the temperature inside the unit. It has a bimetallic strip, a material that changes its shape with temperature change. The bimetallic strip works when the internal temperature goes beyond the set limit of 160°F-190°F, the strip alters its physical form. This causes the switch cut power to the furnace or air handler. This safety shutdown is to avoid overheating of the equipment since this may cause a fire danger.
