The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100284709 Trap Assembly belongs to HVAC systems where it collects and harvests condensate water formed during the heating and cooling phase. This condensate due to temperature fluctuations can accumulate and cause harm if not well handled. The trap assembly functions using one of the simplest yet efficient structures known as the U-shaped bend or trap. While condensate Water rushes through the trap, some of it fills up the U-shape of the pipe preventing water from flowing back in the system. This trapped water is then judiciously drained with the wall system and any undesirable effects are averted expertly.
