Description
The Armstrong International 811-1-125 is a cast iron inverted bucket steam trap developed for use with low-pressure steam systems. It facilitates the elimination of condensate from steam lines in HVAC equipment, including heat exchangers, thereby minimising the impact of water and ensuring optimum system operation. It operates because the trap consists of a self-contained mechanism with a bucket stuffed with condensate. As steam penetrates the trap, it warms the bucket, allowing the condensate to evaporate and leaving the bucket buoyant. When condensate accumulates in the trap, the bucket fills and becomes more substantial, ultimately tipping and releasing a valve at the top. This allows condensate to flow out from the trap, and the bucket resets when steam replaces it. Inverted bucket traps are well-known for their reliability as well as longevity.
