Description
The carrier 30RA502113 Thermal Expansion Valve is an essential part of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It regulates refrigerant flow perfectly to the evaporator coil. The TXV has a temperature-sensitive bi-metal element that expands or contracts with refrigerant temperature in the evaporator. As the evaporator temperature cools the TXV operates to open more refrigerant, maximizing cooling capacity. When the evaporator becomes too cold it then restricts refrigerant flow with the TXV to avoid ice formation and maintain optimal efficiency. The Carrier TXV is about 6.5″ long, 4″ wide and 5″ high. Bi-metal is used to construct it for reliable temperature response and is found in various HVAC equipment including air conditioners, heat pumps and refrigeration systems.
