Description
The Carrier EA680032 Thermostatic expansion valve is used in HVAC systems that employ R-22 refrigerant in their operation. This valve controls the amount of coolant allowed to enter through through receiving information from the pressure and temperature that exist within the evaporator coil. It has a sensor bulb which is installed close at the outlet of the evaporator coil. Therefore, when the refrigerant is used as a cooling medium, and it is taking heat with it from the ambient air, the refrigerant temperature in the evaporator coil is low. The valve then controls the rate of the opening so that either increased or decreased refrigeration passing through the coil can be allowed.
