The Carrier EF660021 Valve Motor Cooling Solenoid is an automotive control part manufactured to be used in Carrier HVAC systems only. This solenoid works like an electrical switch or a valve that is opened or closed electrically. When energized, it creates a passage for the coolant to flow, hence controlling the temperature of the motor. On the other hand, when de-energized, which means there isn’t any current running through the coil, the valve closes, also limiting the flow of coolant. This precise control of coolant circulation helps to avoid a situation when the motor gets too hot and this can lead to the wearing of some parts or complete motor failure.
