The Field Controls 46487301 8″ Gas Vent Damper GVD-8 is a mechanical damper system that is used in gas-fired HVAC systems and heating appliances to control venting of flue gases. Fit to the vent connector of furnaces, boilers or rooftop heaters, it is connected to the control circuit of the system harness to allow proper draft control. It is meant to enhance the efficiency of combustion, ensure safe venting conditions, and add to the stable functioning of gas heating systems.
