The Lennox 17G73 is a Discharge Fan Guard Grille, it is an accessory mainly applied to Lennox HVAC equipment. It is a metal grille that is fitted on the discharge fan opening and fastened by snapping into position. The distances from the sides of the fan to the grille to fit. It seems that the actual grille is probably larger than the above one needed for the fan opening so that it can cover the fan opening while still permitting proper airflow. The grille for the fan shields the fan with a grille to avoid contact with fingers or other objects with the blades.
