These lines transport refrigerant, the essence of your air conditioning system, around the machine. During the cooling and heating operations the refrigerant functions as heat absorption and heat release agent. A fitting is a perfect circle of the refrigerant circuit to avoid leakage that may hinder the efficiency and performance of the system. Refrigerant leakage decreases the capacity of the system to absorb and release heat and thus puts pressure on the compressor to deliver the right temperature.
