The Rheem-Ruud 47-22862-01 Limit Switch is one of the safety devices that are used in HVAC systems to ensure that your equipment does not overheat. This normally closed limit switch which is made of stainless steel is usually small and its working temperature is between 220 °F and 45 °F. The device has an input voltage of 120 and 230 VAC, it can be used with different types of heating equipment. It’s an SPST switch- single pole, single throw, and has a manual reset mode which means, once the switch has tripped due to excessive current, it has to be reset physically. The limit switch regulates 1the temperature of your furnace or heating system and cuts off the electrical circuit, should the temperature go high to cause harm or pose some issues.
