Description
The Trane HTR1266 is a 30-watt crankcase heater designed to help reduce oil viscosity issues in cold conditions in residential and commercial HVAC systems particularly the compressor in air conditioners and heat pumps. This heater is portable and measures approximately 3 ½” long, 2 ½” wide and 2 ½” high (with a diameter of 6 ½”). It operates on a 600-volt electrical current to warm the crankcase during cold start or long periods of inactivity. Cold oil is viscous and will not move freely making the compressor either struggle to start or not operate efficiently. The crankcase of the Trane is warm and this is essentialto maintain smooth operation, reduce the amount of compressor stress, and may help prevent failure in cold climates.
