Description
The Trane VAL4469 is a Thermostatic Expansion Valve designed for older, commercial R-22 refrigerant based HVAC systems. This valve is 5.6” long and is essential because it helps improve system performance and safeguard the compressor. The amount of R-22 refrigerant that may get in touch with the evaporator coil depends on temperature. This enables the valve to be sensitive to temperature changes within the coil, and this is done by use of a thermal actuator. If the coil is underfilled it reduces the cooling capacity and if the coil is overfilled it can damage the compressor. It has sweat connectors for safe connection and it is rated for a maximum working pressure of 500 psi.
