The Trane WHL0490 is a blower wheel, but it’s a essentialpart of your HVAC system’s air handler unit. Many forced air heating and cooling systems have an air handler unit that circulates conditioned air throughout your home. There’s essentially a fan impeller right inside of the air handler and this thing spins fast and therefore, draws air in, pushes the air past the heat exchanger or the cooling coils, and then pushes the air off to wherever your ductwork leads it. It is 12″ in diameter and rotates clockwise. It’s ½” shaft size and seems to be designed to fit a specific motor inside the Trane air handler unit.
