Description
The Xylem-McDonnell & Miller FS1-J Fs-1 with Int’l Threads, 113550 is a safety flow switch made especially for HVAC systems, usually used in applications involving hydronic heating. The heat transmission medium in these systems is water. The FS1-J switch protects the furnace or boiler from potential harm that could result from low water flow. It is usually installed parallel to the heating system’s water piping. When there is sufficient water flow, the switch’s internal paddle rotates freely. The paddle stops spinning when the water flow reaches a predefined threshold. This causes the HVAC system’s FS1-J to shut down, averting overheating and possible system damage.
